Volara by Bonanni Development is a community of 58 three-story townhomes on Electric Avenue in central La Habra, within walking distance of Portola Park. It replaced a 2.9-acre collection of industrial and contractor yards along a former railroad right-of-way, and it sold out quickly after presales began from the high $600,000s.
Today Volara is a completed, sold-out community, so the only way to buy in is a resale. Homes built in 2022 and 2023 have since resold for list prices of roughly $695,000 to $790,000. This post covers what was built, the site history, recent resale prices, and how Volara compares with other new construction homes in La Habra.

From Contractor Yards to Townhomes: The Site History
Volara is a good example of how La Habra is adding housing: by recycling underused commercial and industrial land rather than building on open space.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Prior use | Four parcels of construction yards, storage, and light industrial uses next to a former railroad right-of-way |
| Site size | About 2.9 acres |
| City approvals | General Plan Amendment, zone change from M-1 (industrial) to R-4 (multifamily), PUD Master Plan, and Development Agreement |
| Approved | 2020 |
| Density | About 20 homes per acre |
| Affordable housing | No on-site affordable units; the developer paid about $580,000 in fees to the city for off-site affordable housing |
The city's Housing Element counts Volara's 58 homes toward La Habra's state target of 804 new homes for 2021-2029.
